Aliki Arnaouti, Getting Out, mixed media, 50 cm x 50 cm

Greek, b. 1982, playing from Bern, Switzerland and Athens, Greece

Aliki Arnaouti has a BA in Theatre Studies (National and Capodistriac University of Athens, 2005) and a MA in Advanced Theatre Practice – Scenography (Central School of Speech and Drama, University of London, 2006). Aliki had designed the set and the costumes for various performances of theater and dance-theatre in Greece (Wanted liar 2010, The menagerie world 2009, Punctuation Marks 2009, Broken Heart 2009, My shadow’s shadow 2008, The grave – digger’s complaint 2008, littleprince_B612 2008, Dialehti, Mother Sofia Aggeliki, Wish you were here 2009) and in UK. (Bisclavret. & Heartbreaker in Open Festival of New Work, C.S.S.D. 2006). She has taught the course of Scenography, Costume and Mask in the recognized Greek Drama School Athens Stage (2008 -2010). At the same time she is creating images by painting or using mixed media and digital art techniques. She has participated in the group exhibitions ‘‘M-art Bazart 2012’’ (Manolioudakis Gallery, Athens, Greece) ‘‘Art Together 2012’’ (six d.o.g.s Gallery, Athens, Greece), ‘‘Kalokairino Foustani’’(Milk Boutique et Gallery, Metamorphosi, Greece).

Thoughts on the Telephone process

It was very cool but also difficult and “provocative’’ to try decoding the message of an unknown artist and getting in his mind, without knowing anything of the previous ideas. It was a very interesting “test”, but also a different way of work, which I would like to use again in the future.
