Liene Straupe learned to think and create thoughts at the Waldorf School in Latvia. Her education then led her to the Netherlands where she studied Fine Arts at Academy Minerva, and after two years she switched to another academy – KASK, in Belgium, where she is studying Media Art today.

Liene Traupe has had one solo exhibition and her works have been shown in Venice, Paris, Latvia and California, including Los Angeles.

Thoughts on the Telephone process

It was neither hard nor easy to do this project, because I did not base my works on thoughts, but rather a feeling. I looked at the work I received, and tried to feel it. Once I got the feeling, I was ready to begin making my work. It took a few weeks of viewing the work from the previous artist - I didn’t push for quick results.
