Thoughts on the Telephone process

When I watched Sean McGrath’s beautiful film, which was the work I had to interpret and communicate, I was delighted - I felt that it was filmed just for me! Was this a coincidence? Had the Satellite team thought “oh we’ve got just the right work for her?" Or is it that no matter what message we are given, we can only see it through our own eyes, through our own baggage, so it always seems relevant. As a result, I was able to work on the project without moving very far from the themes I was already engaged with; in fact I found it difficult to do otherwise. At one point I thought to myself, oh I´m being too subjective here and tried to see beyond my own work. But after some self-doubt I thought, heck, just go with the flow.

Having said that, it has opened me up and prompted an idea for a future project– inspiring and exciting!
