Andrea Garcia, Song of Our Cells, cotton string, metal, discharge paste

American, b. 1992, playing from New York City, NY, USA

Inhaling experiences, feelings, and dreams , exhaling creation through interaction of material. I enjoy the acts of weaving, interlocking, and connecting materials to create a unified chaos throughout my work. The viewer is the most important part of my artwork, which is why most of my art is interactive and tactile. Thoughts on the Telephone process

I loved the challenge this exercise brought me. Reading a poem from a person whom I did not know, nor know where the inspiration of the poem came from, and to take these words and interpret them into my own personal 3D style was a wonderful way to gain inspiration. I am so happy to be a part of this project and hope to see it move in a positive direction!
