Greek, b. 1979, playing from London, United Kingdom

Froso Papadimitriou was born in Thessaloniki, Greece where she studied applied arts, illustration/sketching and graphic design; following completion of studies she worked as senior graphic designer for advertising companies and magazines and as motion graphics designer for film and video production companies. Along with her professional work she also collaborated with a zine publication team and got involved in comics publication and exhibitions.

In 2006 she relocated to London UK to further her education, completed a BA (Hons) Fine Art at Middlesex University and currently studying a MA degree in Arts Management and Policy at Birkbeck University of London.

Froso experiments with different art forms such as painting, sculpture, video and theatre performance. Her work is a product of continuous reinvention of the self as part of the evolution of natural and social relations. Through observation, personal experiences and testimonies that arise amidst different social mindsets the work explores the isolation of the self from public involvement whilst constantly interacting with the greater collective assembly and opens different paths of conversation about the diversity of modernity, its understanding and our perceived place in the social environment.

She has collaborated with national and international galleries in UK, Greece, Turkey, Germany, Moscow & Beijing and contributed in various publications in Greece and UK. Major shows are ‘Secret Art for Syria’ Cambridge International Arts Cambridge, ‘(Im)possible school book: As Found’ contribution to publication & live event Tate Modern London, ‘Tracing my echo’ Tettix gallery Thessaloniki and Zweigstelle Berlin gallery Berlin, ‘Video Exhibition’ Galeri/Miz, Istanbul, ‘Exostrepheia’ Kentro Xaraktikis Hlios Thessaloniki and Sismanogleio Megaro Istanbul, ‘Off Spring’ Curious Duke gallery London, ‘Inspired by People’ Soho Gallery London, ‘Postcard Exhibition’ Trans-Siberian Express Moscow – Beijing, ‘Parallax AF’ La Galleria London, ‘The Illusion of Art’ The Courtyard Theatre London, ‘Three conversations over a Pint’ The Foundry (Vaults) Old Street London and various exhibitions at Topolski Century gallery London.
