Michele Mari King is a visual artist based in San Francisco, California. Her work is about the poetics of place and the personal narratives triggered by our surroundings. King has exhibited her work in San Francisco at LIMN Gallery, Mina Dresden Gallery, Public Glass Gallery, Space Gallery, Studio Gallery, 111 Minna Gallery, and other venues. Additionally her work has been shown in Barcelona, Los Angeles, New York City, San Diego, and Paris. When not in the studio, King works as a social scientist and sustainable communities advocate. She studied public policy and urban planning at Harvard University (MPA) and Virginia Tech (BA), and is mostly a self-taught artist who enjoys bringing her disciplines together in new ways.

Thoughts on the Telephone process
I enjoyed the process; for me it was completely intuitive. I translated the feeling of the piece I received (a video clip), which I found to be in sync with other ideas I was exploring for a new series.
