Mads Floor Anderson, Seed(s), live performance on video

Danish, b. 1986, playing from Copenhagen, Denmark, and Oxford, England

Mads is an artist and collaborator, using collaborative approaches to generate performances, events and live art. At the heart of his approach lies the desire for constant awareness of oneself in the space of others. He is interested in the meetings of people, environments and things, and the space generated between them, as a creative and unique forum of relation, collision, rhythms and becomings.

Thoughts on the Telephone process

Not so many questions, from my point of view, were raised during this process, but rather a fascination of the project. I really enjoyed the challenge and the odd collaborative responsibility to the artists I were in “contact” with. To adapt someone’s work, sensitively, into my own “eye," as well and passing something on, required a responsibility in me, which I really appreciated. This work was not for “me” and my personal reason and desire; of course it also was, but it was transcended in the notion of being part of a larger image – the work I created did not only hold responsibility to itself and its viewers, but also to a larger body, which is unknown to me. That I really enjoyed. Collaborative, without being collaborative – yet with a collaborative responsibility. In this sense it is a very ecological project of self-responsibility to oneself and simultaneously to a wider global context.
