Lesley Wamsley, Sometimes Between, mixed media, 26" x 14"

American, b. 1982, playing from Brooklyn, NY, USA

Lesley Wamsley is an artist living and working in Brooklyn, New York. Originally from West Virginia, she moved to upstate New York in 2010 to attend graduate school at The State University of New York at New Paltz. After earning a MFA in Painting and Drawing, she moved to New York City. Her mixed media studio practice explores ideas related to repetition. Both formally and conceptually, the work questions the distinction between meditative and obsessive actions.

Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. Along with her studio practice, she is an adjunct professor teaching in the Foundations Department at The State University of New York at New Paltz.

Thoughts on the Telephone process

I completely loved this process! It was so refreshing to be inspired and “collaborate” with the other artist. Sometimes I get so focused on my own work that it I can’t really see it clearly, but this forced me to begin a project with fresh eyes and ideas. It was truly a wonderful experience.
